Muslims = Crazy?

Perhaps you should re-title this "Egyptian (Muslims) = Crazy?

Or "some people = crazy"?

It's truly a bizarre custom. That culture is loaded with them. Some things one just shrugs their shoulders and mutters "whatever" to themselves.

Changing their laws to allow this just seems so freaking perverted.

I don't understand what part of this law would be unorthodox?

Is it having sex with your wife? or,

having sex with your dead wife?

The story is a hoax.

It started with an opinion piece by Amr Abdul Samea, a stalwart supporter of deposed president Hosni Mubarak, trying to the discredit the new government. It's the equivalent of the American far right claims that the newly elected President Obama was a communist who would take away everyone's guns, declare martial law and put everyone into FEMA death camps. With the UK's Daily Mail as usual publishing wingnut claims as fact.

At least they aren't naked...cause then they wouldn't be married anymore:

'Nudity invalidates marriage'

An Egyptian cleric's controversial fatwa claiming that nudity during sexual intercourse invalidates a marriage has uncovered a rift among Islamic scholars.

According to the religious edict issued by Rashad Hassan Khalil, a former dean of Al-Azhar University's faculty of Sharia (or Islamic law), "being completely naked during the act of coitus annuls the marriage".

The religious decree sparked a hot debate on the private satellite network Dream's popular religious talk show and on the front page of today's Al-Masri Al-Yom, Egypt's leading independent daily newspaper.

Suad Saleh, who heads the women's department of Al-Azhar's Islamic studies faculty, pleaded for "anything that can bring spouses closer to each other" and rejected the claim that nudity during intercourse could invalidate a union.

During the live televised debate, Islamic scholar Abdel Muti dismissed the fatwa: "Nothing is prohibited during marital sex, except of course sodomy."

Meanwhile in Christianity, equally prominant Christian leaders have declared that feminists and lesbians were responsible for 9/11.

And that the Haiti earthquake was caused by Haitians making a deal with the devil. And that Hugo Chávez should be assassinated. And that Disney's acceptance of homosexuality could result in hurricanes, earthquakes, tornadoes, terrorist bombings and "possibly a meteor" for Florida.

When it comes to stupid claims from religious leaders, Christianity and Islam are indistinguishable. For every message like yours about Islam, you can bet that someone in the Islamic world is posting a similar one about Christianity.
