Another example of why the senate needs to be scrapped.

Who comes up with these stupid ideas?

Canada is, because of the Europeans desire for the buck toothed wonders furs. Their pursuit opened the West. Much of our history derives from the pursuit of bucky.

The polar bear is a noble and majestic animal, but really, who wants a national symbol that is on the endangered species list. While our forefathers pursued the beaver, they would have been eaten by polar bears if they had come upon them.

I agree with Freeman. Do these people not have better things to waste our tax dollars on? Leave the poor, stupid rodents as is.

i think we should change the beaver to the polar bear. russa ,the dutch, just to name a couple are trying to lay claim to canadas artic the beaver might have big trouble helping us defend it, but the polar bear could do the job !

Exactly. Plus, the beaver has a certain connotation to it that always makes me chuckle inside.

(duplicate thread)

The polar bear might eat you instead of the invaders. Not a good choice.

Much of Canada's history derives from the pursuit of the beaver.

(JTF, quit giggling)
