I tried ro log in for 60 minutes but couldn't figure it out. No step by step, and when it told me that rosencrentz wasn't recognized I took great insult! lol

Yep you're right about that but as a new member this forum wouldn't allow me to post links yet. Thank you for posting that one to make it easier for others.

Sorry for any trouble you were having. To register for the forums in the upper left hand corner of the page there is the option to connect with facebook or if you don't wish to use that option below that is option that says "Welcome, Guest. Please login or register." the word register is a link to the registration page.

The rest of the features, ie the location search and events calendar are open to all even if you haven't registered.

Once again really sorry for any troubles you encountered and thank you for the interest if you run into any more troubles please let me know.

Gord

GordC- your instructions aren't specific enough- No link to facebook, from Home , and I don't want my facebook information up any way! I couldn't figure out how to get in to register as a guest. Getting in to see what is happening should be as easy as following 1,2, 3, instructions.

Sorry I'll try and be more specific to help you out here and I'll look into adjusting the flow of the site to make it more intuitive to follow, I appreciate the feedback the site is new and I haven't been able to get much feedback other then from friends and family who give the obligatory it looks great when I ask them.

From the home page there are several tabs that can be clicked on they are the following;

  1. "Places", brings you to a location search for family friendly local places. The location search has a drop down menu were you select the type of location you would like to search for. There is a search button below the drop down which preforms the search. The results are listed in a table with links to individual pages for each location.
  2. "Events", brings you to a page with a calendar of local events. There are arrows at the top of the calendar which allow you to look at different months. To get more information on a specific event click on event and details will pop up. If you use Google calendar there is a option to add the event to your calendar.
  3. "Deals", brings you to a page with some advertising that I've tried to keep local and or family specific ie, Groupon, Wagjag, TeamBuy, Amazon deals, Hooked On Phonics, ect.
  4. "Discussions", this brings you to the forums section of the website. When the Discussions page opens you will find in the upper left hand corner of the screen, a graphic with WinnipegFamilies.com below that will be a Facebook button that says "Connect with Facebook" and immediately below that will be "Welcome, Guest. Please login or register" the word "register" is a link to the registration page for the forums.
All portions of the website, including the forums, can be viewed as a guest without registering.
The only portion of the website that registration is required for is to make posts in the forums.

Alright. This is very close to spamming. We appreciate you want your venture to succeed, and I wish you luck, but no more advertising...

Great idea for a website, GordC.

Remember this though... Never, ever sell out your site to a large corporation like WinnipegMovies.com did years ago.
