Okay, now let's look at it from another perspective.
How much does it cost to watch an NHL game on PPV right now?
Plus, how much can you save if you calculate a whole family of, let's say, 5 peeps?
Plus, plus, wouldn't you watch your favorite team or at least only the games you're really interested in watching?
And what's the price difference between all the snacks you'd purchase at the game, vs ordering a couple of large pizzas and watching the game in a nice cosy HEATED home?

Watching ANY sport on TV sucks.
It's great for reviewing highlights...but watching live in person is always more fun.

Besides my kids games I have not watched a game live in a huge number of years.. Been to lots.. but anyone who thinks they will get to watch the game when they take thier kids must be sniffing glue or something. Hell I am not even certain I ever sit down.
Its always... I want pizza, I want popcorn, my popcorn made me thirsty and I drank all my drink, I drank two oversized pops and now I need to pee, daddy.. Matthew forgot to wash his hands and he ate some of your popcorn when you were getting mommy her drink....

I think there is also a floor salary of $40 million for each team.
And this does not include Management, Coaches, Scouts, Travel, Farm Teams, etc., etc.

The cap is expected to drop by at least 10 million for the 2009-10 season. The recession and the declining popularity of the NHL in the US

oh totally true.. I would not let go of my attempts to watch those games for anything I have no problem not actually seeing the games if my kids actually get to see something or have some fun.

heh.. one of my sons had his first drink of beer ever at the final game for the moose in the old Winnipeg Arena. Smile he was umm 5??? yeah 5 and he thought it was apple juice when I offered it to him as a joke. LOL man was that funny and a great experience and memory I never want to give up 8 years from now when he is out with his friends he can brag.. yep.. I had my first drink of beer in the old Winnipeg Arena..... and he will be the coolest guy there...... right???

And the recession is also hitting us in Canada .
Unemployed people do not think about paying $50 - $100 to go to an NHL game.
