First of all - THIS IS MY FIRST POST!

Hey Flying Rat,

How did you get this invitation? Did you attend the so called "public meeting"? My property is in the red zone and I did not receive a phone call, visit, email, flyer/notice of the meeting or even hear that it was planned until my neighbour approached me at 8:30pm that evening. Talk about Stantec and Landmark starting off on the wrong foot!

Now for the hearsay: people that attended the meeting said that the developer (Qualico) will seek to demolish my house to make a 4 lane street into the new development. My sister who works at Oak Park High said this was the hot topic of discussion yesterday and people were outraged at the pure disrespect given to the homeowners/stakeholders. The information provided (as seen in their PowerPoint presentation) was a red herring i.e. completely irrelavent, unsourced, and wasted time so as to inhibit people asking real questions.

A Facebook site in opposition has been created and in 2 days has over 400 members.

I'm not against the developement, but...NIMBY!!! Kidding. Charleswood is a blend of man and nature which has evolved over time into a really unique place. To proceed hastily without complete input from everyone affected is wrong. I am perturbed that a corporation thinks that our neighbourhood needs to be reworked to fit their norm and profit on it.

Anyone who has not seen the area in question, go to www.ridgewoodplan.com for a map, then go there by bike or walk to fully appreciate the untouched beauty of it. You must really see it before you offer an opinion.
