I put my $4000 table on Kijiji, and I have someone who will pay me the $4000, plus any charges that pay pal will charge, without seeing the table, as I have no idea how to put up a picture of the item, and they are out of town and will send someone in to pick it up.
They want my paypal email address to send the money .
I know paypay is secure, as I used that form for several years for my store.
What is the scam?

Is your description such that somebody could establish the quality/value? I use PayPal for a product line - and once I receive notice of payment - I ship. It's PayPal's problem if the payment is later discovered to be fraudulent. The only way that's possible is if they're using a stolen crdit card number. Check the delivery address to see if it's a residence or some neeting place. Ifr it's an residence then you're in the clear because the scam typically is carried out with PO Box numbers.

I don't think any one has a $4000 table up on Kijiji! I put it up just for the hell of it! Full price without seeing it?
There is a warning on Kijiji to do all sales in person, but paypal is a guaranteed payment form that I am familiar with.
I have a $50 credit from 3 years ago, still in my company account.
I cannot see how I can go wrong by sending this person the email address to send the money to?
I have sent an inquiry to kijiji.

definitely smells fishy. The scam is

put the money into the Paypal account....come pick up the item....and take it away.. complain to paypal and report you as a bad user who does not deliver and paypal puts a hold on the money or reverses the charges completely.

Sounds to me that I should use my special account that I have that will not allow money to be removed?
Kijiji warns about doing business in person. Who offers full price with not seeing the item?
I know this is a scam, but I would like to know what the scam is. Paypay isn't a new company, and is well known for their guaranteed payments for a commission.

Someone is going to lay out 4k for a table they haven't seen and then send "someone else" to pick it up without looking at it? I smell nothing but cow pies here.

I'd skip this "buyer".

I checked with paypal and how to handle orders. The goods have to be delivered by a moving company, and cann ot be picked up. This person is going to pay for it, and send someone else in to pick up.
How they get a false payment through, I have no idea, but i just sent in the request for payment.
I love this stuff. If I get the payment, then I will deal with the delivery with my trucking firm.
Nothing to do at 3:14 AM.
GOM- pick me up for coffee?

I'm sure you will receive more info soon that changes the deal.

I've got a phoney cheque from an "M & T Bank" (very funny eh) as well as several phoney Canada Post Money Orders.

I'll scan them later and post them.

Hi,
I will be needing your email with PayPal for the payment, once payment has been completed,i will have it picked up by an international shipping company as i am having it shipped abroad and they have liaisons with local companies in every suburb so getting to you shouldn't be a problem
Regards
That is their message today.
They want my email address of Paypal so they send me a phoney receipt.
Perhaps then i will get a request to pay for shipping to Nigeria? I will find out- I will give them a wrong email for myPaypal.

I will be sending funds ASAP but before i make the payment, there is something i need you to be aware of,i just received an email from the shipping company that will be in charge of the pick up.They are saying i need to pay them their fees which is $1000 before they proceed with coming for it and the only form of payment that they accept is Western Union Money Transfer.Where i am,the nearest union office is 8hrs from me and i could also send it online using their website, but they are not accepting any of my Credit cards.I dont know if it will be ok,if i include this agent's fees in the payment i will be sending you now,so on receipt of the total funds, you will remove the additional funds of $1000 and help me send it at your local Western Union office which can be found at the post office or you could send it online at www.westernunion.com.Let me know if this is ok and i will proceed with the payment.

This is so disappointing- The same old pay for the freight scam!

I am going to wait for a false notice that the $5000 is in. I think I should have given him the right e-mail address and not follow their phoney link?
I will advise them later that Western Union can take their credit card for the freight! lol
Nothing to do in my 1 1/2 hour busy time at work.
Done the payroll and am waiting to go home or treat someone for lunch! lol

I like the "authorized signer" and "drawer" on the cheque.

Incidentally, a friend of my daughter's who works at a postal outlet, said it was so real that she would probably would have cashed it.

Who wants to go to Nigeria with me?
Dear Phillip Rosen,
You have received a PayPal Payment of
$5,100.00 CAD from German Goveia (germangoveian@gmail.com).

Here is the e-mail address for all posters to send a message to!
I haven't found the money that was sent as yet!

A temporary hold has been placed on this transaction!

As mentioned in the receipt of Payment and as per New PayPal Payment policy, we have fully debited the total amount (above) from the buyer's account which includes the buyer's shipper's pick up fees.

Hello (germangoveian@gmail.com)

I recently lost a huge position in government in Canada.
I have massed quite a sum in funds away from my department due to
incremental funding. I have learned your email from an acquaintance who
indicates that you are an expert at getting funds out of the country
undetected. Is there anyway you can help me? For now, email is the best
way to reach, but as I will soon be travelling all over the country on
business perhaps we can arrange to meet somewhere discreet?

in confidence

Well I am being threatened because I haven't sent the freight money in, and I am being warned not to answer their e-mail. What damage can happen other than other spam e-mails if I answer them?

If they are threatening you. Even electronically, they are committing a crime and as such you may want to involve the police.
