Aren't you tired even when you work outside doing manual labour for long hours?

I used to be able to survive on 6 hours sleep a night, but lately I'm feeling the need for 7-8 hours a night.

....and the first one of you that makes a comment about age will be mailed a bag of bed bugs.

I am getting up at three fifteen am to make brekky for two travelers catching the four thirty shuttle to Tikal for sunrise.....after that I will go back to rest for awhile then get up again to supervise breakfast service for a tour group, then back to my rest....how we divide our days down here is rather interesting and I enjoy seeing the shops close up at lunch to reopen two hours later....nice lunch, a bit of rest and back to business....very civilized way to run one's life....I feel more energized yet relaxed enough that I can focus better.

My people!

I have never been a sleeper. My parents used to joke when I was a kid that they'd never actually seen me sleep. I have never fallen asleep with ease before midnight, and usually not until well after 1 am. I have no problem getting up at 5 or 6 am and functioning. In fact, I feel sleepy and lethargic if I sleep more than that.

This is also hereditary. My father and his father are very short sleepers as well. 4 - 5 hours/ night is a norm. If I find I need a nap, I know I'm getting sick.

I've always been a 7 or 8 hour per night person.

Of course, when I was young, I was know to pull a few all-nighters, but we won't discuss that.

I've tried to get into the afternoon nap thingy but have never been good at it. My nap turns into a couple of hours and that screws up my schedule. (Heh, maybe that'll change when I'm old. Smile)
