Pixies to play concert hall on April 27

wait wait wait.. so you guys got actual seats?

I got pre-sale tickets through pixiesmusic.com and my tickets say that ours are all General Admission. Doooes that mean "floor" seats at the Concert Hall? Because I assumed that all tickets were GA.

I bought a pair through the second presale but decided they were too far away so I bought another pair during the public sale.

I don't know if the Pixiesmusic.com presale had only GA tickets, because the other sales have assigned seating. I think for some venues, they are GA but for the Concert Hall, they should be assigned.

How did you find out that your presale tickets were far away?.. and how did you get closer seats for the public selling?
That completely nullifies a presale..

Anyway I have a .pdf of four tickets and it says that "seat assignments will be at WILL CALL the day of the event" and that "seating will be assigned based on the order in which they were purchased".

Sooo how did you find out where your seats were?

I am row 11 on the floor for the Pixies. I bought my tickets through the Live Nation presale. Not sure how the GA tickets work, maybe contact the pixies website to ask?

I missed out on the Pixiesmusic.com presale. Your four tickets are from that presale.

I bought my first pair during the Live Nation presale, and these ended up being in the first balcony, last row. Not quite what I wanted.

During the public sale, I ended up in row 7 on the floor.

The thing about presales is that they don't put all the best seats on sale. In fact, they put some good ones, some so-so ones, sometimes some great ones. But they have to have good and great seats available for the public sale, otherwise people would complain bitterly that they had no fair chance to get good and great seats.

Sometimes, if the seats that I find in the presale aren't good enough for me, I simply choose not to buy them and then I take my chances in the public sale, in which case I have usually ended up with better seats.

Today, I bought presale tix for Wynton Marsalis. I ended up in row 2 on the floor at the Concert Hall, just like I did the last time he was here.

As far as I can tell, some venues that the Pixes are playing are, in fact, GA. For those venues that are not GA, you should receive assigned seats. There's no way they could have a mix of GA and assigned seating at the Concert Hall. But you won't know what assigned seats you are getting until you pick up your tickets the day of the show.

Yeah, well either way I'll be suprised if I'm not in the top 4 rows. We were first row centre for their Saskatoon show in '04 so as long as I'm not in a balcony I'll be happy.

That will be one interesting WillCall visit the day of the show for 8 of us haha!

Row 7 is good enough for me, although I was kicking myself for getting the time wrong for the Pixiesmusic.com presale. Hope you get great seats! It should be a fun show or two, now that there are two of them.

I wonder how many people are planning on going twice or end up trying to sell their so-so seats for the April 27 show if they bought much better seats for the April 26 show. Gonna be watching Kajiji this weekend.

Yeah we were thinking about throwing a couple tickets on Kijiji to cover the cost for the rest of them.. but it's not worth it now with two shows.. which is a good thing!

The shows are going to be killer.. I'm putting my ear to the ground Friday to see if they head out on the town.

Yeah very disappointed that they didn't rangle up a worthwhile group. That means I'll catch the first period of the game!!
