One councillor will resign due to health reasons. There'll be a by-election and the same councillor will be elected again as a result of a typo on the ballot.

None of mine came true...

The gang problem will get worse. Cameras will be set up in downtown's so-called "trouble spots" such as outside Portage Place.

More power will be given to the Downtown Watch "Special" constables.

A grim confrontation will take place between a participant of a Critical Mass ride and either a member of the general public or a cop/rentacop/Special Constable.

Driver's licenses will now have RFID chips.

After several more nightclub killings, all Winnipeg bars install better surveillance and metal detectors that rival those found in airports.

No progress will be made on any sort of rapid transit.

More Wal-marts will go "24 hour". Other stores follow suit. But not the LC Sad

CJ decides he's had it with taking the bus everywhere and after seven years, fixes his damned car. Lousy Chryslers.

Nope - both studs that hold the thermostat housing broke off in the engine block. We tried the "benzene torch, drill, and easy-out" trick but ended up breaking the drill bit off inside the stud as well. So now I need my machinist pal to get help everything out...

Probably shouldn't have had that 3rd bottle of Gulden Draak...

I have a sentimental attachment to this particular vehicle... I've had it since 1994 and it's been a work-in-progress for, er, several years now...

Do you have snow tires?
If you do, auction them off and buy a new car with the loot.
Winter tires are selling well right now across Canada. Idea

Scary, ain't it?

I've gotten pretty good at seeing problems on the horizon, just not so good at judging their relative speed.

Well, to be perfectly fair, some of them were pretty obvious (gang problems, RFIDs, cameras, etc) as they were happening (or in the planning stages) in other cities at the time.

The Critical Mass thing was almost a foregone conclusion as the last few rides had gotten a bit heated and tension had been building rapidly in this car-centric city, and rapid transit is perpetually on the backburner...

Let's see how accurate we are when we do our "Predictions for 2011" thread at the end of the year!
