yeah.. some of them have an unsafe level of lead in them

sure its from the states... but seems to me that it is fairly likely that some Canadian stores buy from the same manufacturers.

long story short.. dont let your kids play with your bag.

No one can prevent bacteria! Does some neurotic dingleberry think that they can prevent bacteria? We use cotton bags, and I wouldn't bother to wash them to kill bacteria, because if any bacteria survive the wash, then they will come after you and attack! lol

Why don't you use the biodegradeable bags made from corn husks? They do smell like maple syrup.
Didn't I say this already, in another thread???

I have some sort of strange need to hoarde these things. I must have about 30 of them, in various states of use and disuse. They get holes in them quite fast if they've been washed, which they need a lot. The ones that are holey often get shuffled off to become toy storage or missing sock holding containers. I actually use them when I shop, and have folder upper ones in my purse all the time. None of them match either. Some of them are handsewn by me, out of upcycled pillow cases, and are larger/deeper and stronger than the dreck you get at the store.

I have some with holes in them (small holes) that seem to emerge either from sharp, pointy packaging busting through them (like Lean Cuisine frozen meals) or too much washing. If it's negligible, I sew them up. If they're too far gone, they are decommissioned and used for holding paper recycling goods (the mountain of Freeps that build up over the week) or stuffed animals, skates etc.
