$16 Billion for:
community centers, for health care, for aid to low income family's, for infrastructure , for every thing other than the military except better pay for our soldier's.
It is a matter of priority, or lack of it!

If we're going to have a military, we'd better have equipment for them to use. Our airplanes are falling apart, just like most of the other things they have. Maybe the F-35 wasn't the right choice, but money to get our boys out of antiques sounds good to me.

Waste - 15 K - chaching


School board - Install singlemode between 2 cabinets less than 80 ft apart. - 10K

Use Cat 6 instead - 600.00

Waste - 9400.00 chaching.


Thats just 2 examples. There are many more.

That is the whole point DeanK, the Russkies aren't coming! there is no threat at all, and maybe we don't need $16 Billion spent,maybe $4 Billion would have been enough, just enough to get us by until the threat from Bolivia is looked after? I don't know, because we weren't asked, and I think we should be asked before any money is spent. It doesn't cost any money to have 500,000 Canadians connected to the "government" via email, to be consulted for every major expense over say $500.00.

$5 Billion dollars for some 2nd hand underwater ships that don't work is an incredible waste

There are so many wastes, where resources spent could have done better .

What is the matter with government? Doesn't anyone , when they see an invoice for $162,000 for a hammer understand the concept of reasonable ?
JTF, regarding the Asker monument, you understand perfectly well ,when I say, that since the governments involved have determined that the expense was approved , that I am really happy that it is in Winnipeg, rather elsewhere!

It is a huge expenditure! I would have preferred the money go to purchase a Jets NHL franchise, but after reading last Saturdays report on the construction of that building, I am excited and proud what is going on here. This is a great building, that is being built right here in plain Jane Winnipeg!
Did you read that article? I saved it, so if you want I can try and post some of the problems and incredible engineering solutions. This will be a worl class building, if the windows don't all crack when it is -40 with a 50 KMH wind!
