I know a co-worker who says the same thing about light bulbs and lawn fertilizer...

I'm not being argumentative, I'm just not following...

ahh...see but the size wire has safety implications.. size pipe "could" have safety implications too.

I thought that the less water that we use, and which goes into the system, the less water (sewage) that we have to treat.

That saves us money.

you pay for the treatment already. the more you use, the more you pay.

want to put a limit on my household?

fine.. say I cant use more then. X litres per person per day, anything over and my rates go up.

Ya got it. Ergo...the less you use...the less you pay.

Wanna pay more....leave your tap running.

Well Dean...I understand where you're going with your comments...I just don't know if you're saying them to be annoying, or if you truly believe the dribble.

Either way...put simply...I hate government interference in PERSONAL activity/choices.
I despise them telling me I can't drive without a seatbelt on, and creating laws (stupid ones at that) about cell phones and motorcycle helmets.

I detest anyone running for office saying that "they know best" what's good for me and/or my family!

But, my understanding of these new building codes do not address ME, or YOU for that matter.
They ONLY address NEW home building codes...ie. commercial operations that are building new homes from the ground-up.
They are designed to prevent new home builders from "cutting corners" by providing cheap, inefficient materials.

It also ensures that homes being built now, are designed to be less of a drain on the power, plumbing, waste infrastructure...that is already overburdened by existing homes.

It MAY impact you if you're doing an addition, renovation...but that should not occur for a few more years...as the building codes changes don't usually transition to existing homes for several years later. (prime example being electrical standards for homes)

From a non-cost related side, aren't provinces responsible for regulating natural resources ( like water)? So if it was anyone's responsibility to set guildelines on water use from a resource management side it would be the provincial government.

There are no limitations on use because there is no shortage.
