Ok...so...proud dad here...gotta tell a kid story.
My daughter plays soccer now through a local community centre.
Last night's game, her team scored a goal, and she started pouting on the field because it wasn't HER who scored the goal.
I pulled her off the field briefly and explained to her that soccer is not about "HER", it's about the "TEAM"...and that when others score a goal, she's supposed to be happy for the "TEAM" and go give them a high-five and say "Congratulations!".
Later, she was playing goalie...and a player from the other team scored a goal on her. She promptly ran up to the kid and gave him a high-five and said "Congratulations!"
The parents around me (who had heard me "coaching" my daughter) started laughing hysterically!!!
