I'm pretty sure this used to be Grapes Leon Centre. I was there for lunch this week. I had the BBQ chicken salad with spring rolls. The rolls were great but the sauce was quite hot, a tad too lunch for my liking. My lunch mate loved it, though.

What I didn't like was the noise level. Generally speaking, I don't care for these large restaurants since the sounds of the other guests tends to drown out the conversation.

Still, the food was decent. I wouldn't rush back, though.

Anyone else been?

Yep...we went a while back and it was okay. I found it to be overpriced. I wouldn't go back.

Sounds almost like a perfect summary of the freeps recent review.

LOL...That was my review a few months back long before the Freep review. I wasn't overly impressed with the food or the price. 6 of us went for a Saturday night get together, we arrived sat down ordered drinks and the server brought us our drinks took our orders and within minutes our food was there, appetizers and mains at the same time. Not a relaxing or enjoyable experience, I felt rushed.

It is m ind boggling that you can go out for a meal and some dumb server brings out everything at once!
When you paid the bill, did anyone ask you how your food experience was??

Awhile back, when my wife and I were visiting our new house in Charleswood, we tried a restaurant on Sunday for breakfast, just 3 blocks from us in Charleswood village.
On the bill was a place to put your comments, and leave your email address, which I did, and no one bothered to contact me on my complaint. Greek food restaurant on Roblin Blvd in the 3200 block- The food order of pancakes well done, and they couldn't be bothered to leave the huge quantity on for 2 minutes more! I hate almost raw pancakes, and I hate when no one asks how was the order!

Pappas gREEK Food and Steak 3318 Roblin Blvd- has a pretty good write up on its Greek Food- Maybe breakfast isn't a fair example of their better food? raw pancakes, but lots of them maybe make up for the cheap $5.99 cost?

The server asked how everything was and I told her it was too fast. She didn't have an answer for that.

On a different note, tonight we will be celebrating Cinco De Mayo....tequila, margaritas and Mexican food. Smile

Definition: Al dente refers to the desired texture of cooked pasta in Italian cooking. It literally means "to the tooth". When the pasta is cooked al dente, there should be a slight resistance in the center when the pasta is chewed.

Pronunciation: All DAN Tay

Also Known As: to the tooth

Alternate Spellings: Al Dante

Back on topic, Triniman have you ever tried the Hu's at the baseball park? I have a friend who prefers that location over the one in Leons Centre.

I have gone to Hu's on First at the ballpark, for lunch. Food was excellent, but very very expensive for lunch.

Excuse me? I make one simple correction - that was all I did. No one is calling you stupid. Only you are making that inference towards yourself. Christ. No debate here just a simple clarification. Whatever.
