The edit button allows me to correct spelling mistakes, and change whatever I want to change after the post is up, and appears to be a random thing.

Edit buttons disappear after 5 min. so make sure you think before you type and check your spelling and grammar before you hit the SEND button.

We do not delete posts in the sandbox even if they are extremely or explicitly offensive.

We do EDIT if the post if they are extremely or explicitly offensive. Big difference.

Yes...some edits are done if found offensive, or if a reasonable complaint has been filed.

Typically...a POST is not edited unless it is unintelligible, is explicitly offensive, or someone has (yet again) used the word "loose" instead of "lose".

A THREAD in a public forum may be edited to avoid having the sandbox look like a 2nd rate scumbag forum with titles expressing profanity or explicitly offensive material to potential new members looking for an interesting place to interact.
