Let me know how they came out as per my advice.....I had to......as I drove down around the city today on errands all I could smell was "Q".......oh it is such an intoxicating and alluring smell......almost as good as? Where is Spring??? - Page 3 Icon_smile

The steak turned out absolutely amazing, I'm not cooking it any other way from now on. I really had to resist the urge to constantly turn the steak over every few minutes but I did it the way you said and it was great! Thanks again for the tip MizP, it really is quite simple but the results are awesome.

If one keeps turning and fussing with any grilling project, the sides never get cooked evenly.....next time grill your corn cobs.....brush them with olive oil and use some fresh ground sea salt.......turn them as necessary to avoid burning the kernels....then when they are done you can take the cooked cobs, trim the kernels off and have roasted corn for salads....nice.

Oh Bartron....one test if one is not sure is the hand test...It has to do with sticking your thumb into the flesh of the opposing palm....that gives one an idea as to how what "doneness" level feels like....

I have done a light sea salt and mixed peppercorn dry rub on the ribeyes I picked up today.....now I did grill before I went out west so not too much maintenance issues there but man, as she is heating up I can smell that wonderful smell permeating my space....this is a truly great day.

To hell with the ghosts of the past - they can stay where they are.....being miserable bastards. I have my "Q"....be forewarned, the cooking mojo season is upon us.....MEAT.

Miz P may admonish me but a nice rub of Hy's topped off with Diana's sauce, only the BEST BBQ sauce known to the human race, and the result is unbelievable.

We ended up having the beef tenderloin tonight...I used some Montreal steak spice and that is it, grilled to medium rare. Did up some baked potatoes, corn on the cob and steamed broccoli. Smile Tomorrow will be chicken.

I bbq year round every weekend. I don't let the weather stop me. I just can't eat meat any other way.

No admonishment.....I keep a Hy's container around.....great for the dry rubs.....I just prefer to make my own dry rubs if given the time.....ribeyes are now resting.....the house smells.....oh, man.

I too "Q" all year if possible but there is nothing more satisfying than spring air with the drifting odor of Q'd meat products!

As a sidebar because this past winter was my first winter in years I did use the barbie often....but I kept thinking back to those Central American bbq's on the beach et al that are unique unto themselves and for all the right reasons.....but there is something about the crispy clean air today that just makes a Q all the better. A beer maybe, but not necessary.....just to breathe in that air and hear the birds fighting for space in my trees....cool.

We just finished having a rotisserie bbq chicken and bbq'd sliced potatoes with spanish onions. We usually use the bbq all year round but this year we only used it a couple of times over the winter. We had to block off our back door this winter to conserve more energy on the hydro bill. I love bbq as it can be so much healthier for you than the stove/oven. This afternoon my husband and I went to Shooters to hit balls/he gave me a lesson on my short irons. He has a tee time tomorrow at Blumberg so it will be his first outdoor round of the season!!!!!!!!!!!

Hubby was at Blumberg on Monday, course was in good shape for early spring, tee boxes soft, only one temp tee box, a little bit of snow in some low lying spots but most gone now with the rain this morning. Kildonan set to open Friday, as is Bel Acres. Fantasy Lake on Hiway #1 east is open as well.
