I remember once it reached +2C one evening in early February, about 1977 or 1978. You could almost go out with a T-shirt.
With light rain falling, I hope the temperature doesn't drop, or else there's gonna be alot of work fixing damaged cars...

Actually not bad this morning. NOt a big deal clearing the ice off the car windows and the streets aren't bad at all. Lots of City trucks out sanding and salting.

They've closed some highways because of the ice, but I reckon as soon as that sun comes out.....slush..slush..and more slush.

Lights at a train crossing came on, but there was no train in sight. Guys took it upon themselves to lift the gate to let people drive through.
Was this illegal or just common sense?

I was at the corner of Isabel and Notre Dame a short time ago,where the lights were out and two cops were directing traffic.
The dumbasses had the traffic going on Isabel so long that cars actually started to honk their horns.
Finall, these dumbasses allowed the pattern to change. I swear cars were backed up to Donald. (These weren't cadets either.)
...make one wonder...at least it does me....

Nice and sunny here in Grand Forks, about 0C. Freezing rain occured last night, and now the roads north to the Canadian border are ice, compared to last night when we came in; they were bone dry.

uggh...I've ran into this behaviour before too, frustrating.
you would think it would be easy enough to have a manual of the manual timings of intersections and whenever cops/cadets had to man it they got a quit update from the supervisor of the general guidelines ie 1 minute north south to 30 seconds east west type thing. It dont have to be accurate but a good estimate is good.

Well, the problem is, as I see it anyway, that the cops have to wave their arms and count time in their heads at the same time. Most cannot do that.
I believe that's why they haver two cops there at a time. ..one to wave their arms and the other to count...but they screw it up and the one counting, just keeps on counting and the other, just keeps on waving their arms.
