Will it be Bob "NDPer" Rae? or Michael "I'm truly smarter than everyone in the world" Ignatieff?

Actually, I hope Iggy gets in as it would be fun to watch the debates between he and Harper. He'd make a good Leader of the Opposition, but PM ????....I don't think so.....

In any event, the Liberals are gonna' be rebuilding for some time into the future, so the possibility of him becoming PM are remote anyway imho.

Lloyd Axsworthy .. if he were to run and win the Liberals would be a majority next election.

You're kidding right? Lloyd would make a good left-wing replacement for Layton maybe.

nope.. not kidding at all.

Guarenteed win for the liberals if he ran. Well actually a guarenteed win for any party if he was thier leader.

Lloyd has gotten himself what politicans get into politics for. Why should he go back?

He wont, or at least I seriously doubt he will, just sayin that if he did, he could save the liberals.

You do know that he was not well liked by many in the Liberal party I trust, and that still holds true with them. Besides, Lloyd defines the Liberal party's hold on the Entitlement Bit and they want to rid themselves of that image I believe.

I like and trust Lloyd Axworthy. Should he ever run for the Liberals again and for the leadership of that party I would change my stripes. Axworthy would be good for Canada and great for Winnipeg.

Exactly why he won't go back to politics, He got tired of the snake pit, and of the dog and pony show called "house of parliament"

And the betrayal from the party over a french candidate. Besides he is happy where he is and can do more good there for the city.

I think Dijon is an excellent candidate for the Liberal leadership. Who better to guide them into the next election? He has experience!!

Dion is the logical choice.

That way when Harper gets his majority the liberals can then have 4 years, uninterrupted, to get their finances in order and pick a new leader.

Is that Stephane's Anglophone cousin?

The Liberals must have an Anglophone leader to maintain the pattern....

apparently there was a reccession in the 90s.. thats why Bob Rae tanked his province.
"Former Ontario premier Bob Rae formally declared his candidacy for the leadership of the federal Liberal party today, saying he won't hide from the legacy of his recession-ravaged government of the 1990s."http://www.winnipegfreepress.com/breakingnews/story/4252012p-4895716c.html

well at least the people running for the leadership appear to have ears and are willing to listen to the people.
