What ticks me off is the situation of highly paid positions on the rez held by some who have not even finished high school yet this position which is asking for serious academic and practical credentials is offering no compensation. Could it be because the position is to be held by someone who is not of the tribe? I call bullshit on this one.

I'm sorry but I find that combining Any First Nation and Trust to be an oxymoron. But it proves why they feel they have a sense of "entitlement" when it is called the The Long Plain First Nation Treaty Land Entitlement Settlement and Trust Agreements.
Wow a volunteer position that requires all of that education, not many out there that will have that CV and those that would, would be crazy IMO to volunteer for this.

I figure two people would (well three)

1) politician or someone else hoping to influence First Nations people about them when it comes time to selecting them for a job or a political position

2) crazy people

The person cannot be treaty status? Is that why it is a volunteer position? Is there a legal barrier that states treaty funds cannot be paid to non-treaty persons?

I will bet that the "job" description is written is such a manner as to ensure no one applies. Then they will be able to appoint whomever they want.
