THE LONG PLAIN FIRST NATION TRUST IS SEEKING AN INDEPENDENT TRUSTEE FOR THE REMAINING TERM OF THE CURRENT POSITION, UNTIL OCTOBER 5, 2011. This is a volunteer position that compliments a Board of Trustees that administer a Treaty Land Entitlement Settlement Trust Fund by way of a Trust Agreement. The Independent Trustee is selected by the current 6 Trustees by way of competition and serves a 4 year term. DEADLINE FOR APPLICATIONS: FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 19, 2010 @ 4:30 PM. Requirements: The application will include a cover letter, resumé and criminal records check. The Independent Trustee shall not be registered or entitled to be registered as an Indian under the Indian Act. The Independent Trustee shall be a person, who in the opinion of the Trustees has experience, training or education in business, government, law, economic development, agriculture, accounting, management or real estate, and has obtained at least one degree from a Canadian University or its equivalent. Prior to taking office, a proposed Independent Trustee shall consent to a Criminal Records check in accordance with Article 12.6 of the Trust Agreement.
