A company that manufactures the best night scopes in the world has been including markings such as this ("JN8:12 or 2COR4:6") on their product for the past thirty years.

The inscriptions are biblical reference would you believe?.....

JN8:12," a reference to John 8:12: "Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, 'I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life,"' according to the King James version of the Bible. and....

2COR4:6, a reference to part of the second letter of Paul to the Corinthians: "For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ," the King James version reads.

I think it's hoot that a company that sold night vision shet would use these references.

Others don't have my sense of humour apparently....

Hmmmm....some interesting points in there...like:

New Zealand uses about 260 sites
U.S. uses tens of thousands of sites.

I don't think the company is going to be losing much of a client by losing New Zealand. Does New Zealand's money have anything on it about believing in God? Like the US "In God We Trust"?

New Zealand is still going to keep buying them though. They're just asking for the ingravings to be eliminated.

Trijicon said biblical references were first put on the sites nearly 30 years ago by the company founder, Glyn Bindon, who was killed in a plane crash in 2003. His son Stephen, Trijicon's president, continued the practice.

A special interest group apparently has brought this matter forward.

"It's wrong, it violates the Constitution, it violates a number of federal laws," said Michael "Mikey" Weinstein of the Military Religious Freedom Foundation, an advocacy group that seeks to preserve the separation of church and state in the military.
