Top Ten best paid CEOs in Canada

From today's Free Press.

The top ten best paid CEOs (that we know of) in Canada. There's always some surprises in these sort of lists. For example, who knew being CEO of the Potash Corp. of SK would pay so much?

Notice that Rosen and all other Winnipeg CEOs failed to make the list. That happens 87% of the time, I'm told! By the way, I think it's perfectly fine that they earn what they do.

3. J.M. Lipton -- Nova Chemicals Corp., $19,753,245

4. George Cope -- BCE Inc., $19,551,345

6. William Doyle -- Potash Corp. of Saskatchewan, $17,026,317

7. Hunter Harrison -- Canadian National Railway Corp., $13,350,048

8. Dominic D'Alessandro -- Manulife Financial Corp., $13,251,274

9. Stephen Wetmore -- Bell Aliant, $11,563,520

10. Serafino Iacono and Miguel de la Campa -- Pacific Rubiales Energy Corp., $11,294,791 and $11,293,975 respectively

I know Hunter Harrison is a Yank, I wonder how many of the other CEO's are foreigners?

Their incomes are foreign to most of us eh.

Is that their annual salaries? Looks lower than I would have expected.

Strange how nobody seems to have an issue with sports people such as basketball players making $18 million/yr but for some reason there's a fascination with business salaries.

Good point, but aren't most professional athletes part of a union? Guess that makes a difference.

I have no problem with anyone earning that kind of money. Especially me.
