My Shaw phone has been dead since yesterday. Is anyone else having the same trouble?

Pffft. Smile

Is it safe to assume the telephone only is dead? Is the internet connection working?

Is the phone plugged in?

Did you charge it?

Does your TV work?

Did you pay your bill?

Internet and tv are working. No change to phone and it is fully charged. My account is PIF.
I'm at the office now, so I'll call Shaw.

I've had Shaw phone service now for over 3 years I think. I got in on the ground floor when Shaw started the phone service and maaaaaaaaaaaaan did I have issues for the first year, at least once or twice a month with a dead phone. They finally solved the problem by completely changing my outside telephone line. Now I wouldn't change back for the world.....

I'm sure he was referring to the cable. And technically, since his cable is also his telephone, it could be called his outside telephone line.

The outage here was related to the "upgrade" done yesterday. Phone service has now returned.

I just got a message from Shaw telling me they are doing "upgrades" in the neighborhood as well. So far no outages that I've noticed. I find a day long outage far far too long. They need to find a way to keep such outages to a much shorter time frame.

I am positive it was an outside line that was changed, I don't know if it was telephone or cable, can't remember......but it did connect to the telephone post in the back lane. After that change all was well.

Little while back I had to have my modem changed and some of the lines fixed in the house , also out in Transcona too wonder if that makes any difference.

They have to use special wires out in Transcona...something to do with the insulation always getting chewed up by the fighting gophers.
