well apparently there is a possibility that large dams are actually causing at least localized weather pattern changes.

And with 45,000 large dams built world wide since the 1930s.... you kinda have to wonder how much of the local weather changes are showing up on the global climate change map.

HOWEVER!!!

anyone actually believe this 45000 large dams built world wide thing? That number seems a bit exagerated to me.

You have to be able to dissect all the very interesting scientific words in this article, to get a full understanding about this thesis. and than to carry it over to the whole global warming disaster, and then look ar the stolen e-mails recently published , from data about this whole money grabbing "scientific" group.

If you divert enough water it's definitely possible to alter local weather. Sort of like how the temperature downtown is normally higher than the temperature at the airport. But opening that up to 'climate change' is a pretty big leap unless you do some major damage to a lot of very large areas.

who needs to divert water?

Wanna know why the water is being depleted around the world?

VERY simple answer...just turn on a faucet somewhere, or look at the nearest water cooler.

For every drop of water being contained in plumbing pipes, water bottles, used to make juices, pop, etc. It's another drop of water NOT in the environment nurturing the wildlife, filtering the chemicals in the world.

The more buildings we build, the more plumbing installed, the more water contained.

The dams divert water, and can create new water patterns, and certainly locally affect the weather. But as we contain more and more water...the less there is out there to help balance nature.

no no.. I am saying that perhaps the "climate change" numbers are being skewed severally by this effect. If even say... 10% of the climate change numbers are being thrown off by this effect that would have a significant impact on climate change conclusions.

Didn't we just scientifically prove that climate change isn't happening by reading a few lines out of context from some guy's email? If that's not scientific proof, I don't know what is.

I like Fox News, it is just as news worthy as CNN, MSNBC, CBS etc...I watch all different newscasts, I like to gain perspective.

CNN has become very tabloidish. So I'll agree with ya on Fox = CNN. Both offer strange perspectives and employ bozo's as broadcasters.

The US networks serve up a traditional newscast. As do the Canadian networks, locally anyway.

That said it is very rare for me to spend much time watching American news.

Oh please.....how can anyone with half a brain take folks like Hannity, Beck or O'Reilly seriously? In the case of the latter yelling at guests to "shut up" is a disturbing trend indeed. Seems to me that the American style is not to engage in dialogue but rather talk over each other in the hope that one's pov supercedes the other by sheer nature of force.

Any words or concepts I employ I have been using for many years. I am not about to apologize for my discourse nor my large vocabulary. If some cannot understand what is being said they can grab a dictionary and use it.

So much for the spirit of this time of the year - very false and fake indeed. Whatever.

What is truly annoying are those that cannot handle the fact that there are some folks out there who have the ability to articulate their thoughts without having to spew out the same damned invectives every bloody time.

Get off of it GC.....the not-so-artfully veiled inference is there being that it immediately followed my discourse.....tossing my words back at me is not going to achieve much. If it is one thing I excel at it is reading between the lines - that talent has saved my ass on many occasions.

I sincerely hope you get over today whatever it is that is vexing you because I harbour no malice but I am left wondering how someone can turn on a dime so quickly and think that it is a fun thing to do, to poke fun at another with whom one knows that there are lots of events happening to that person that are not so pleasant.

How about in the New Year some of you come up with words of more substance to put down the Provincial Government other than "commie bastards" or anyone else for that matter whose POV you do not agree with. Now that would be interesting indeed to see sound reasoning as to why these so-called "commie bastards" are so vexatious.
