If he is a fan of the fifties he will love that place....this is no frou frou steak joint but is as close to traditional as one can get. I say this everytime I post about Rae and Jerry's but I want that black sofa in the lobby...pure fifties leather and chrome!

I am sure that Rosie could make you one if you took some pics for his crew.

I could not afford a sofa of that quality.....that one would cost at least seven G's......who knows what the one at the restaurant would be worth to a collector......it is vintage for sure....everytime I go to that restaurant I have to get my photo taken whilst lounging with a cocktail in my hand.....on that work of art.

We ended up at Rae & Jerrys last night. Was it ever busy!!! The ladies no longer wear the red dresses they now wear white shirts and black dress pants. The menu never changes. I had a 6 oz tenderloin cooked medium rare, baked potato and green beans. The hubby had chilled tomato juice, onion salad, 6 oz tenderloin, garlic mashed and some of my green beans. We shared a 1/2 litre of the house red. Before dinner I had a gin and tonic and the hubby had a Stella. We looked over the dessert menu, the hubby had a Rae & Jerrys coffee. The price was reasonable. The bill, with tax & tip was $123.00.

That's not a bad price really. We did Spudtino's on Friday and dropped $90, but it was damn good.

I have been there at least 5 times, and everything was very delish! I guess my taste buds are not as highly refined as MizP's!

friends comments on Don Pedros

"thinks Taco Time has Mexican food down better than Don Pedro's. If you want mediocre Mexican food, terrible service, and listen to a guitarist playing Mexican music only using power chords, Don Pedro’s is the place to be"

The best Mexican I have ever had was in Mexico and a close second was in California. I still want to try Don Pedros and Casa Burrito looks good too.

Thanks for the compliments!! Taste buds are muy importante para mi trabajo. That being said I would be fussier than the average bear regarding Mexican cuisines because of my experiences(almost 20 years worth) in that wonderful country, but especially in estado Oaxaca.

December 19 the hubby and I are going to try Hu's Asian Bistro's newest location....they opened up a new one where Grapes Leon Centre use to be. I've heard nothing but good things about Hu's on first so I am anxious to try Hu's Asian Bistro.

What's up with the 19th of Dec?

I liked Hu's on First...just went there for lunch a couple of weeks ago.

It was packed though...so for lunch it took longer than it should on a weekday. Service seemed a bit slow.

Food was delicious though, and prices were reasonable (even though I had coupon).

Haven't checked out the Bistro though...I'll have to go check it out sometime.
