The Victoria Curling Club is hosting five, free, ‘learn to curl’ open houses during the 2009/2010 curling season. Everybody is welcome – men, women, juniors, seniors and children as young as eight can visit the club to learn how to play the game of curling.
No curling equipment is required, as the club will have equipment available to use free of charge, but please bring a pair of clean, non-outdoor shoes to wear on the ice.
Lessons begin at 7:30 pm and run until approximately 10:30 pm. At the conclusion of the lessons, all of the new curlers will have the chance to compete in a friendly, skill based challenge to win prizes. The ice and club will then be open until close to allow people to practice the skills they learned, and possibly even play a friendly game against other new curlers.
This event is FREE to anybody who wishes to attend.
The first open house is scheduled for Saturday, October 24, 2009.
Pass this email along to everybody in your address book. Tell your friends and get them curling.
