I may not have gone but I was hoping they would get it as well. I thing Chicago would have put on a spectacular Olympics!

That said, how could a city whose wimmin all look uber-spectacular be a wrong choice?

hmm website says its world class... so that should qualify it I would think.

We should try to host the 2014 youth summer olympics.

Requirements are that you should not have to build anything besides maybe athelete village. I figure we already have that since Kapyong will still be around and even if not we certainly could stand for a good chunk of new buildings being built that can be turned into apartments when it is all done.

Needs a 2500 seat pool. 10K seat stadium. plus various water events.... You know all stuff we have already..(except maybe the sailing unless they would let us take it a little further outside the city. because all events are "supposed" to be able to be handled within the host city.
its 5 years away... someone get on it.

Good idea DeanK. I really think that Winnipeg should try to host a major international event. It would be good for the city's image both internally and externally.
