Through her work, my wife got tickets to the Goldyes game yesterday. Haven't been in years, so we figured we would give it a try.

Holy crap, what a boring sport!! It was like watching paint dry!! When I checked the sports threads on this forum, there was a lot about football, hockey (including the Jets) and some amateur stuff, but not much on the Goldeyes. Is it just me, or is this sport unexciting and unpopular as it seems??

Hey, we had great seats and even if we had paid for them, it would have only cost us $36 for the two of us, but I would be hard pressed to spend even that. am I just too in love with the beautiful game to get into baseball?

Baseball is more like fishing than football. It's more of a relaxing experience, with occasional bursts of excitement. That doesn't mean it's bad, you just have to go in with the right expectations. If you go fishing and expect to be battling a 30 lb sturgeon every 10 minutes you will be very disappointed.

Its a good thing that the beer was kind of pricey otherwise the other half would have to carry me out of there.

This is true...baseball is a game that's designed to sell food & drinks...not for the action.

If you don't like crappy food, and (what used to be) cheap beer...then you probably won't enjoy it so much.

I do agree they should speed the game up a bit...force the pitchers to pitch quicker...batters to get on the plate to hit faster...but then it would be "conforming".

It's basically a day to sit in the sun and enjoy the summer (if it ever gets here)

It was pretty sunny and hot for a while (we didn't stay long, part boredom, part threatening rain, part had too much to do) and I really don't enjoy just parking my ass in the sun, unless its Grand Beach.
