Such typical government efficiencies.
They have lumped the gun control costs into Harper's protection budget.
200 men, full time at $150,000 per year costs 15 million- seems pretty reasonable to me!
The figures if true, I do not believe them, are consistent with the type of return we get from government programs.

So inefficient, it is embarassing to everyone, except the government!

Granted it is a lot of money, but when you read the article, it sheds a lot of light on it. Its not just the RCMP that surround him on a daily basis, but theres 24 SUssex has to be secure 24/7. Also, as the article says, advance teams when he travels, plus following up on the nut job mail and stuff that the PM receives, theres a lot of people involved.

killing Layton would be easy... simply make him believe he was somehow appointed PM.. instant heart attack

killing Iggie even easier. Appoint him to a Senator position...without telling him that the senate is abolished.
