Obama is on the air right now talking about health care for all Americans.

I gotta say that no matter what I think of his politics the man is inspiring and compelling.

We've not had a leader with that kind of Charisma in a very long time. Is there one in our near future???

the thing about this US health care thing is to me, anyways how it highlights where americans and canadians differ..

The americans seem to naturally fear and distrust their government and place their faith in big business.

where as, it seems to me that we canadians place all of our faith in our governments. every time we need something, or something happens we look to our elected officials to do something about it.

or thats how it appears to me. personally i like our way of doing things better. i feel that everyone gets a share and everything seems just a little more equal in a socially just kinda away.

I don't have faith in ourgovernments. But you're right, we have a tendency to expect government to do everything for us. They should stick to what they are supposed to do and that is provide services that the private sector can not, and to create a climate where we can all prosper if we work hard.

There is no justice when those who do not want to and do not make a contribution. Thats called communism.

Just keep in mind the millions of working Americans who cannot afford basic health care.....who pay taxes.....who are having trouble in this economy, a situation allowed to fester and develop under the previous 8 years of mismanagement.......leveling the playing field is not communism.....it is good fiscal sense.

This is the statement that I was referring to. Didn't listen to Obama, it really doesn't effect me.
