After a couple of months of some brutal organizing, leaving Thursday am, bright and early with No 1 and No 3 son for the National Sports Centre in Blaine, Minnesota (just outside Minneapolis). Our Club is fielding 16 teams at Schwann's USA Cup weekend, which is the largest youth soccer tournament in North America. With about 216 kids attending, this is almost half of our Club of 458 players. No other CLub in Canada can boast that number of teams and players for this event.

Great event, great organization and great fun. I think I can relax come Thursday evening. After that, its all up to the kids to have fun.

Made them a deal, I'll buy them a 24 to bring back, but it will cost them 12.

We're just back from the UK. Touched Luxembourg and Brussels.
Went over the channel on a P&O ferry. The driving on the wrong side was less drastic than I thought, actually easy.
Went to Stonehenge, Marlborough, Statford upon Avon, Worcester, Hampton Court (the real one, near Leominster, not the palace one), Oxford (the spoiled student city), and London.
London lives entirely off tourism. Shut the borders and you can conquer England. The city is very badly organized. VERY expensive. Usual nice places to visit and sightsee. Go there on the weekends. Avoid Portobello Road (waste of time).
If you really want to see the wax museum, you're completely crazy and out of your mind...
Be sure to have plenty of money in your account before going to Harrod's with your credit card...
Most bank cards (from other countries) don't work inside the M25... (their perimeter highway).

Old enough?

When we last went to the US...coming back we had our (then) 2-year-old with us...and bought a bottle on her name. They didn't say anything about it.

The Canadian border agents are quite good people usually. They are not out to hurt the little guy normally.

Should be a good weekend, a lot of the kids I coach are going out with teams, and our academy put together a U15 boys team, should be a good tournament, it's too bad I gotta miss it!!!
Good luck to all of your teams!

We are leaving Sunday early morning to go and find summer, somewhere south and west of here. Going on a golf vacation to the Black Hills - Badlands area of South Dakota. Looked at the weather forecast and it looks warmer and sunnier for next week than it will be here. If I could have convinced my hubby we would have gone to Mexico for a really warm vacation but....................
