We need major expenditures: new companies bring new jobs into the city and province. There has been some for sure, but not as much as we need to balance out the capital expenditures. My point is most government expenditures are not sustainable.

Sort of give a man a fish/teach a man to fish kinda thing.

Well we don't know that do we? So why raise that point?

The NDP should have been developing massive training programs for years now. Many of these programs you mention are relatively recent.

The engineers and techs were probably working in Alberta.

I don't have any links to substantiate this at the moment, but I've seen reports that Manitoba had the lowest private sector investment rate in Canada, and one year recently (2007?) we had negative job growth in the private sector.

We need a more competitive tax structure.

Is that the one that says: Give a man a fish...he'll eat heartily and say thank you...Teach a man to fish...he'll empty the oceans and kill the planet.

Link welfare to training for most people. Connect promising students with empolyers for internships. Let's stop making welfare a way of life for most able-bodied people.

i hardly believe a thing that comes out of that "news paper" when it has to do with the NDP. This is all just a whitewash, to throw people off of the recent scandals the party has been wrapped up in.
