Did anyone catch the article in Saturday's paper about the 27 yr old woman in BC, who is expecting her 6th child and family services is poised to apprehend the kid at birth. This will be the 6th child of hers that will be taken into care. Apparently, the claim is that she and her hubby have low IQ's and some other personality issues which render them unsuitable to be parents.
The title of the post was just to draw attention. I should write headlines for The Sun.

Nope, falling behind on my news intake. Sounds like a good deal for the child.

And then there is the woman who will be getting out of jail in 1 year after having killed her first two children ( 3 years apart) who told the judge... when I get out I want to have more children.... ( she was just found guilty after spending 5 years in pre trial custody so her 6 year sentance only ends up being 1 more )

While they are delivering that child...they should automatically reach in and tie those tubes. Don't tell her...just DO IT!!!

Apparently you can tell her it's part of an emergency c-section and she'll believe you.

And ANYONE who kills their own children should be automatically "fixed"...and not the kind of "fixing" that can be reversed...full operation...permanent.

I find the irony of the situation incredible. The state can not take any action to prevent this women from having more children, yet they have the power to deem her unfit to have children. Same thing goes for the women in prison that killed her kids.
Am I missing something?

I've been arguing this one for quite awhile.

I want to clarify though...I mentioned a PERMANENT fix...but that's for the ones who kill their kids only.

For that other (dumb) one...just a temporary fix...ie. something that can be reversed. Not because I think she should have children...but because then, if she has it reversed...and gets pregnant again...she can actually be CHARGED with endangering a child...and THEN can have the PERMANENT fix.

I also think that anyone who wants social assistance should have to be (at least) temporarily fixed, so that they can't add children to their environment, or steal extra money for their habits and neglecting their children.

A temporary fix to pregnancy...would that be marriage?

Do they have implantable birth control? Maybe they can Implant this woman with one of these Birth Control Implant that way she could have sex with out getting pregnant and the state could check up on here every 5 years, until she is no longer able to produce children. It seems fair to me.

On a side note: We could do something real sinister, something Hollywood. Give this couple to the army, so they can breed future soldiers trained to fight for Canada from birth. Just kiddin'

I wonder about one statement on that site.

"Most women cannot see Implanon once inserted".

Ok...so if you CAN see it...doesn't that mean you can FEEL it?

Don't know if I'd want to be putting myself into an area with a toothpick sticking out of it.

As some have said you need a licence to drive but can raise a kid with no proof you know how or are capable.

That woman should have been made to have her tubes tied. She's just a danger to any future children IMO.

Some people should not be allowed to raise pets much less children.

You know...in some ways...pets are harder than children.

A child (if raised well) will eventually become useful and move out. A pet, you're stuck with forever.

Forever would be nice... I lost a critter last year and I gotta say it broke my heart. I'd of liked him to hang around a few more years.

It really is amazing how attached we can become to our pets.

And yet there ARE DAYS when detachment sounds like a great thing!!! Very Happy.

I actually had to put one of my cats down a few weeks ago. I only had him a year...he belonged to my mother-in-law for the previous 15. It was still sad...I'm not afraid to admit I cried quite a bit. But, he was aging (16 years old already) and peeing all over everything.

Hopefully, if I start peeing all over everything...someone will do the same for me.
