Ahhh... the RCMP received SOS signals and failed to act apparently. Same with the lodge.

He sure has a point from my perspective.

The RCMP were certainly responsible for their reactions! No reaction at all! Were they two busy tazering excited delirium students? They made a misteak, don't know how a court would figure out what % was their fault. They were asleep at the whuul!

How can you guys joke about this? And the hatred here. Geeze, somebody died. They asked for help the only way they were able, and the RCMP ignored them. People notified authorities, and the RCMP did not act.

Sure, the couple did not follow the marked trail, but MANY skiiers do that. Once they leave the marked trail, the ski resort is no longer at fault. Its called back country skiing. It doesn't leave the RCMP off the hook. I'm surprised the Ski Lodge didn't notice a car parked on their grounds for 9 days un-moved.

The guy left the trail, told no one where he was going, was completely unprepared, both in terms of knowledge and equipment.

HE got lost!

HE was unprepared!

HE told no one of his intentions, so when the signals were discovered, no one knew anyone was missing so why should they go looking.

Tragic results, yes, but culpability on someone else's part, certainly not.

The guy WAS AN EXPERIENCED outdoorsman. He did everything possible to ensure there would be a tradegy such as this. EVERYTHING possible.

He told no one where he was going
He did not dress for the weather
He did not bring along matches or a lighter
He did not stay in one place once lost
He built a shelter and left it
He survived, but his wife did not... hmm....interesting.

The RCMP DID react, the reports of the SOS were looked into.. NO ONE WAS MISSING

RCMP admit mistake over lack of search


Meanwhile, the RCMP said Thursday that failing to start a search for the pair was a mistake.

"There was an error on behalf of the RCMP in not initiating a call-out on Feb. 21," Cpl. Dan Moskaluk said on Thursday morning in Golden, B.C.
Even though the couple got lost on Sunday, Feb. 15, a search for them didn't begin until nine days after they disappeared, despite sightings of SOS signs scratched into the snow. SOS signs were noticed on Feb. 17, and again on Feb. 21, which is when the RCMP were first informed."

Just because the RCMP are apologizing does not mean they did something wrong. I have to say I sure know of a good way to get rid of my wife now if I ever want to and heck the sound of it I can even get rich doing it! (but umm no one tell her of this fool proof way okay??? )
