So its pretty obvious about normal public suana etiquette eh? No peeing or spitting in the sauna, no nakedness? right... pretty straight forward rules?

WTF does the sauna at the Cindy Klassen complex have the rule.. NO SHAVING on the door?

Like holy hell batman, who the frick goes to a public sauna and freakin shaves????

No nakedness? What kind of crappy sauna is that?!!!

But shaving...I can understand that...most likely for women's legs.

An ex of mine had a sauna in her house...she used to go in there to shave her legs because it helped open pores and gave her a closer shave.

No nakedness? Gah?

Actually....just a few weeks ago, my wife was horrified to learn that the men's change rooms and shower rooms at pools and other facilities aren't private...

"You mean....you shower naked together...eeew" Type of thing...

Apparently the women don't...and that makes us strange?

ahem...

Anyway....I've never seen a dude shave in a public sauna, or pool, or hot tub, or shower even. And yeah, I thought some rules like that didn't need to be posted!

Keep your eyes up, and mind your business!

yeah why do guys have to shower and change together but women dont? Thats just so wrong... AND since homosexual people are not descriminated against and can be in the same area as their preferred sex... why do we even bother segregating the sexes any more? much cheaper to build one shared change room and shower room me thinks.

Most women are more shy about nakedness than men are imo. ...especially with other women.

Frankly, most men don't give a damn about it...unless your gay of course.

"Most women are more shy about nakedness than men "

so as a society we end up paying more to cover their shyness? Seems to be an act of discrimination to me.. either start building private ones for guys, or make them all coed.

Another dicey issue is children in the change room.....if your a parent, at what age should you stop bringing your children of the opposite sex with you to the change room?

It's something many people feel very strongly about...

My cousin is a single parent...and he takes his kids with him, which some members of the family think is "just wrong" because his little girl is 5... Does that mean he can't take his kids to the pool anymore....or does it mean he has to find a female to take along with him for changing time? I'm sure many women have the same issue....however they have private change stalls...so it's a little different. They don't have naked people walking around, showering around them like the guys do.

The age limit for children in the opposite gender change room posted at the pan-am pool is 7. They do have specialty rooms for disabled/opposite gender use.

A lot of the pool and fitness facilities are now equipped with "family" change rooms so this issue is being dealt with. Personally I find it disguisting when in a locker room and a person sits down on a piece of furniture with their bare a@@. We have a sign in our locker room that goes something like this: bare bums have cooties too so cover yours up and be courteous.
As for one reason women have "private" shower stalls, think about what visits most women once a month. Would you want to shower publicly? I know I don't.

Like someone does, otherwise they wouldn't put up the sign.

Oneof the microwaves we bought had in the instructions "Not to be used for drying pets". As you ask yourself who would be stupid enough to do that, you realize that they put it there for a reason.

Well personally I dont want ANY guy looking at me any time, even though I dont get a monthly visitor... so why am I being discriminated against?

but yeah more family rooms are needed for sure, its not exactly comfortable being in a change room and someones 8 year old daughter is there ... hell if nothing else maybe dont have it so the girl has to walk through the shower full of naked guys to get to the pool.

I'm thinking, worldwide, it's pretty common to have nudity in a sauna or steam room, especially in a same sex situation. It's also common to have bath houses or spas where washing/shaving/exfoliating is allowed, so to cover their butts about cultural differences in sauna and steam room use, they just post it.

At the YMCA, the shower rooms are pretty much see-all, but there are a couple private shower stalls. There's naked women all the time in the shower and change room area. It's a LOCKER room. Get over yourself.
