Do you think it was because Cuba did not re-imburse the Mob for taking over their gambling casinos?

China did not make good cigars. and the American tobacco industry did not view them as a threat.

Might have something to do with Cuba pointing nuclear missles at the US. Hard to forget something like that.

President Barack Obama lauds Cuba offer to discuss thorny issues
Cuban leader Raúl Castro's recent offer to discuss all issues -- including the fate of political prisoners -- is ''a sign of progress'' that could lead to more deliberate strides toward normalization, President Barack Obama said Sunday.
''We are going to explore and see and if we can make some further steps,'' Obama told reporters shortly before his departure from the Fifth Summit of the Americas.
Among the things Obama said would be viewed by his administration as good faith acts by Havana: freeing political prisoners, reducing fees on Cuba-bound remittances from the United States, freedom of the press and freedom of religion.
While Obama said Washington's long-standing policy of isolation has failed,
What I don't understand is why the US should have anything to do with the way Cuba is being run!
Is it their hate everything communist, except if you are China syndrom?

i think its cause Cuba gave the USA the finger after their little revolution.

Cuba also nationalized all United States and other foreign-owned property in the nation on August 6, 1960. The United States, in turn, responded by freezing all Cuban assets in the US, severing diplomatic ties[18], and tightening the embargo on Cuba, which is still in place after nearly 50 years.[19] In response to the acts of the Eisenhower administration, Cuba turned towards the Soviet Union for support. [20]
Many attempts have been made by the U.S. to overthrow Cuba's government. One of the most notorious is the failure of the Bay of Pigs Invasion at the height of the Cold War, but after the Cuban Missile Crisis, it promised verbally to never invade the island.

thanks wikipedia!

I get it now! Nationalizing all assets would do it! That makes sense to me! Cuba should have made reparations!

Ahhh...NOW you are learning grasshopper Wink.

The Democrats (in general) are Socialists. They believe the government should run and control EVERYTHING.

Now...they go and ease tensions with Cuba...a KNOWN Communist/Socialist government, who most Americans deem to be a hotbed of corruption and oppression.

And the US implements rules of control over some private industry...Americans start protesting, and the US Government jumps up and says "but hey...look at Cuba...it could be worse...and even they are changing!!!"...so the American protesters back down and say "well, ok...we'll give it a try".

As long as Obama stays public about everything he's doing...nobody can touch him.
