Does any one know of a GOOD golden Retreiver breeder?

hey I was wondering if any of you guy know a good Golden breeder? My girlfriend and I are looking to add another to our pack and we don't want some one that is just using there dogs as baby making machines! the breeder that we got our golden from has decided to stop breeding goldens and now we are in search of another good breeder. any help would be great! thanks!

I can hook ya up with a great Cockapoo breeder. But no Golden Retrievers...

Why not rescue a dog from a pet shelter?

well we watch for goldens there. but its hard to get a pure golden from a rescue. not saying that we only have goldens. we have fostered abunch of dogs for the humane society. but we love goldens and we want another permanent memeber of the family and i think its starting to confuse my golden to fosters coming and going.

My wife is a good breeder. Let me rephrase that. My wife is a good golden retriever breeder. She is expecting OUR DOG to have a litter available shortly.

She also has strict rules to be sure the puppies go to good homes:

MUST have a fully fenced yard. It will be inspected.
Must sign multi page contract agreeing to all manner of condition as to welfare of dogs including a no breeding clause without permission.
If you even blink at the price she assumes you may also hesitate to pay vet bills.
As a member of the Canadian Kennel Club and the Golden Retriever club of Manitoba she follows all the guidelines (and more) as to pre breeding health screenings of both parents. No stone is left unturned to be sure of healthy puppies.
She has to like you.

Good for her/you. I'm impressed. When I started looking for a breeder she did the very same to me. She came into my home to see what the new puppy was getting into. That told me a lot about the breeder and left me feeling confident the puppy I'd be getting would be a very healthy little girl. Three-ish years later and I've the most wonderful dog.

I don't worry about vet bills, my uncle is a vet and we wouldn't want a dog for breeding. We will leave that to the pros.
we just love the the personalities of goldens.
