It is morally wrong and I agree with that but there is no rule against it so Bill has done nothing wrong. This should be changed but it is up to us not the politicians as they will never do it . If there is no rule that stops it it is okay, as we have allowed it .

double dipping will not be allowed in the Manitoba Party.
ie.. you will not be allowed to run for a party nomination if you are recieving a pension from another political position...unless you donate all of that pension to a charity in your riding if you win.

Could I pick the lesser of the two to donate?

Or convert the salary for the new position into an "expense" account for the position.

what if that "pension" is not drawn from the tax base I'm being elected for?

ie. say I was an MP in Saskatchewan...and now I'm running as an MLA in Winnipeg?

Or whatever positions?

Then it's not a conflict...as it's not "double dipping" from the same people.
