MPI reported there were absolutely no cars stolen on the night of March 3rd. Looks like we're making good headway in this department, good news for sure! Consider that just a few years ago there was 1 auto theft each hour in a 24 hour period, now we're down to an average of 5 thefts a night.....if no other program in the city has worked this immobilizer program sure has!

I give the police the credit more than the immobolizer program. Attempts are down as well...however when someone attempted to steal my car a while back, MPI said it wasn't an attempt, but "vandalism". Sure. They can twist the numbers anyway they want.

I think it's significant...afterall, we had dozens and dozens stolen each day for a very long time.

exactly... biggest perps in jail.. or on ankle monitoring...and thefts go down... nothing else. INCLUDING the immobilizers makes much of a real difference

The immobilizers were a knee-jerk reaction...a stupid reaction. They should have known that there is a reason for jails.Wink

I say we eliminate all jails..

make the ankle monitors all have a few grams of C4 in them...

make the trigger be, anytime a crime of a particular type is found to have happened, .1% of all the ankle monitors related to that crime randomly go off ( rounded up to the nearest whole number )

pretty soon wont be any crime happening as the criminals will be monitoring everyone else to prevent all crimes.

- High-level offenders being detained behind bars
or
- The government forcing citizens to install Automobile imobilizers

Isn't there a stupid irony to this story. They actually reported when there were no car thefts on a certain day. Sort of like reporting that no one died in a war today. Afterall, isn't that the way its supposed to be?
