I can only take him in small doses. His range is very limited and after two songs....I'm almost asleep. (But that's just me.)

I love It's Closing Time and Hallelujah. Great tunes.

K.D. Lang's Juno Awards in Winnipeg in 2005 Performance on Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah. An incredible cover of that tune. Shivers galore and what an ovation, almost a minute long... Enjoy.

Hallelujah is awesome. I prefer Jeff Buckley's version though.

I saw her last year at Pantages. Amazing voice, but too many loungy songs. Won't see her again.

Her wardrobe was from the Portage Ave. Army Surplus store....

Ahhh...one of those artists eh. I know what you mean...seeing one or two songs on TV is one thing...an hour or so, is quite another.

He's a poet Pav....I appreciate it but I prefer to hear an actual singer. Nick Cave kinda reminds me of Leonard Cohen, but I prefer Nick Cave!

About 6000 fans showed up for last night's Leonard Cohen show, which began around 8:10 and ended three hours later, with a 20 minute intermission.
Perhaps it was Cohen's talking-singing style that has allowed him to last this long as a performer, but the fans clearly loved every moment of the show and took every opportunity to show their gratitude. At the end of every song in the encore, he received a standing ovation, as if it was the last time the audience would see him perform. And, much to the surprise of many, he and the band broke into yet another number. I think they played 5 tunes in the encore. During many songs, he went down on bended knee and cupped the mircophone with one hand, as if he wanted to funnel his voice more clearly into the microphone. When he exited or entered the stage, he would playfully skip rather than walk, showing everyone that he still had a spring in his step.
He's 74 but was worth it, in my humble opinion. I ended up in row 9 on the floor, but for some reason, didn't end up paying $250 for my seat. The first ten rows were supposed to go for $ 250.

Yeah, I was thinking of that album, I'm Your Fan, when he played I'm Your Man. I have the Jennifer Warnes CD.
In a world of copycats, Cohen is an original.

One of my girlfriends, when she used to live in montreal, had one of those moments that still elicits hearty guffaws....she had been out pubbing with friends and as they emerged into the bright daylight she saw Cohen walking down the street.....Inspired or fortified by her mass consumption of adult beverages she yelled out HEY LENNY WHERE'S MY FIVE DOLLARS???!!! Cohen gave her five bucks.

Too preciious.
