"For me, this is the strongest argument that either you have to do something about global warming or you need to actually figure out how you're going to deal with these kind of permanent reductions in yield,”"

real easy... eat different foods.

maybe if I keep saying it over and over it will actually start to be done.

we need to quit spending money on stopping the climate change and start spending money on coping with the climate change.

In my books, if climate change warmed Canada up we will be in abetter position to produce more food, because of the extended growing time. Those that argue only on the negatives are dumb ass bureaucrats, who have their own agenda.
For every action there is an opposite and equal re-action is something I was taught in art class.
I can envisage a Manitoba, just after mayor Sam retires, that has its rich farmland producing 2 crops per year, being irrigated by some of its 1,000,000 lakes. I can see all the electricity still being produced by Manitobas hydro electric system, that is currently producing 95% of its power requiremnets as well as being sold to our USA neighbours.
I see our very good quality marihuana bringing in lots of visitors and lots of money!

ahh but you are missing the fact that with increased temps come a different weather pattern.. perhaps we get way less... or way more rainfall.... which throws off the growing cycle of what we currently can grow... regardless.... the right approach to this is for humans to adapt along with the adapting world... we obviously cant control it and we should really stop putting so much effort into trying.

I find it so crazy that all these Darwinian scientist understand evolution was usually caused by changes in the environment, now they are running scared because the environment is changing.

So, the North Pole melted, and we got 2 cm added to the ocean level. Now it froze again.
The scientists say that the ocean level will rise by 6 to 7 metres, should Antarctica melt completely.
Who should we believe?
a) the mad scientist.
b) Dexter.
c) Hawkins.
d) your neighbor.
e) none of the above, take a wild guess...

We should believe Al Gore!! Why should you not trust a guy who was a heartbeat away from having his finger on the button which could have obliterated the world as we know it?

(My God, I just scared myself!!)

May, perhaps, might all possibilities- so much bullcrap from scare mongers and our governments have bought it with 200 other countries who meet in Bali in wintertime and spend 120 million dollars meeting and discussing and agreeing on absolutely nothing. Blah, Blah, Blah, just like the U.N.
If it is wasteful, then it is our governments at play. Bali in wintertime! That says it all!

Seems to me that with the government mixing in to promote control of the earth warming up, they are doing more damage. Since they have been promoting bio fuels, corn prices have doubled, and the many countries that have corn as their base, Mexico and all South American countries, the peasants are starving, the aid agencies cannot supply the food, and when you factor in all costs, it appears that there is no actual reduction of green house gas production.
The governments continue to "save the earth" in that their policies do not change. I guess it doesn't accept the facts as presented.
There is a program some where that explains who killed the electric car. Does anyone know who?

There were 626 comments on the link to the Globe and mail article that I posted on Feb 18th, and since there is nothing to do, I started reading some of them! So many doubters as to whether any one should pay any attention to the doom and gloomers, it is refreshing to read! That International Panel Of Scientist nay sayers, ahve chanded their original report from likelt to very likely that man made emissions may be causing the world to warm up.
Of course they do not tell us what portion "may" be man made and what portion is simply a result of the natural warming and cooling of the earth. That is what is really important!
