I'm way ahead of you...I've already got a warehouse all picked out.

However, a little birdie in my gut tells me we may not be throwing away out incandescent bulbs so soon so I haven't rented it.

There appears to be a problem with the new bulbs for millions of people that react to the flickering on the mercury packed bombs.

I've heard people are developing rashes and burns from exposure to CF bulbs, too.

I saw something on the news regarding the CF bulbs. Some woman and her kids were getting physically sick from them, headaches, upset stomach etc. Pretty scary!

They are really no different from the regular tubes , which have mercury in them. I have them in my house with no real problems , wonder where all the problems start . The only complaint is not bright enough out side especially in the cold .

Some people are having very bad reactions from the noise and the flickering. If you can't see or hear anything, you're lucky....but wait a few months.

I bought some that are meant for cold and they turn on right away. But the normal CFL bulbs take for ever to "warm" up I guess you could say.

the noise is very annoying. The light is okay and they do put out heat just not as much as a regular bulb. I do like how they last alot longer then normal bulbs.

I have been putting mercury in my coffee, in order to slowly get used to the new "normal" lights.
What bureaucrat calls a light "normal"?

Interesting fact about the new light bulbs- the savings aren't as big as originally stated, only about 17% when you take into account the lost heat that has to be made up by heating your home in Winnpeg!
Always some BS afyer the fact.

That study showed that there was a negative savings...that is, there is an increase in carbon output....a huge amount. (85M tons or something)

Incandescent bulbs give off heat, which we must replace with gas, oil or, electricty when we use the Goofy Bulbs.

Interesting heating house with bulbs .

In our climate, heating the interior of our houses is important Pav. They have looked at everything in a house that gives off heat in order to see what effect this will have on the big picture.

Another problem is the mercury in the new ones...huge problems to come with this stuff.

I know light bulbs give off lot's o'heat but it does seem odd that they would contribute much.

What I find frustrating, is that at 1st those light bulbs were going to save the Earth! The bulbs were handed out free all over the place. The governments probably spent a billion taxpayer dollars. Hydro is spending millions paying for complete make overs. The list goes on and on.
What is the truth?
We'll never know, because the subject is like googlig climate change yes, and climate change no!
Both sides have plausible arguments!
I go with whatever the government is supporting, I know that the opposite has to be true!!

I was applying for the job to determine which lightbulbs were to be considered "normal".
I think I have a few courses in psycholgy, but I would have to check on that! 40 years ago is a long time.
