How to Post an image

FlyingRat's tutorial on how to post an image

This method will allow you to upload a picture from your computer or from a website.
The first time you try this, you may have to sign up using an email address to create an account.

Step one:
Click the "host an image button". It looks like a photo frame with a diskette (remember those!) in front of it.

This will pop up a window for you to select the picture, either from your computer, or from a website.

Step two:
Browse for the image on your computer, or click on the "url" option to enter a web address of the picture. You may like to resize the image to one of the options available.

Click "Host it!"

There will be three boxes with links to the picture you uploaded. The second one is the correct format for posting here. copy that text, and paste it into your post here.

Further tips:



Clicking the copy button just highlights the text. Use control-C to actually copy the text.

I find that the pop-up window tends to "stick" inplace over the post. Once your have copied the text into your clipboard, close the pop-up by clicking the host "an image button" - you should see a bit of it under the pop-up window. Then you can finish creating your post.

There are other methods. What MrRat has demonstrated is the method where one can upload one of their own images.

If you are loading an image found on the internet the easiest method is to right click on that image and select copy image location.

In your post select the image icon and simply paste the url into the pop up box.

Never knew what those things above the message area were - Great I learnt something and so early in the morning. My day and weekend are a success!

I was doing fine til it said my file type not allowed, so I guess no jpeg pictures.............

jpeg images should be fine --- how are you posting?

2 hours ago, I tried, unsuccessfully, to get on line in my house.
It was dark outside and I was afraid to go out to my gazeebo, as I was worried about tripping over a body that was lying there , abandoned, a few weeks ago!
Damn band width was out of reach!

Try Bandwidth Dowsing. You need a bandwidth rod. You can get them at any computer store.

Bandwidth dowsing is illegal in these here parts.

Agreed. I had not seen the image before. If, in the future, sandboxers see something that they find offensive, please let a mod know.
