Yep, I'm gonna start a beer thread.

List your favorites. If anyone has some local suggestions besides Fort Garry, because I've mowed through their offerings this summer, I'm all ears. I love trying new kinds.

Normally I end up buying a couple of varieties of Sleeman's and Newcastle Brown as staples. I discovered Innis & Gunn oak aged beer this summer, and it was a welcome surprise. A lot of flavor. Hard to explain. Hints of oak ( duh ) , bit of caramel and citrus. Interesting to be sure.

Alexander Keith's I.P.A. is my staple. When out at a pub, I will usually try something new. Last 'new' beer I had was a Red Stripe.... at Lo Pub. I was delightfully pleased with it.

Keiths is also my beer of choice. I also enjoy Heineken.

I used to drink Foster's quite regularly...which is an Australian beer, brewed in Canada, invented by an American...but it's not available in Manitoba.

Primarily I stick with Sleeman's or Keith's now...but am willing to try most any beer...though most of them taste the same to me anyway.

I am not a big fan of rickards. I tried it and didn't like it it tasted really bitter to me.

#2 son likes Sleemans Honey Brown and I can't for the life of me figure where he got his taste from.

Mind you, I'm more of a quantity vs quality guy myself.

So you buy those 2-litre bottle variety? Smile

If you go down to West Virginia, they sell 1-gallon jugs for about $3.00...much more quantity that way Smile

I wouldn't go as far as the 2 litres, or at least anymore. I do have some dignity left, not much, but some.

I AM a Rickards fan. I like their tasting package where there are a variety of different types to try. I especially like the Red.

As some of you know, I am a fan of Belgian beers, my personal favourites are Gulden Draak, Piraat, and Trappistes Rochefort. Pretty strong stuff!
