I could not believe he was the same person that I saw during the election. I strongly believe he alone won the day in many riding's, especially in Quebec. Canadians should be most thankful to Jack for rendering both the Liberals and the Bloc irrelevant.

A man with his charisma does not come along very often.

Poor Jack. He doesn't look like he's in recovery. He looks like his cancer has metastasized - he's absolutely haggard and drawn. Jack watchers (a few of my friends would like to make him the meat in their sandwich) I know called this before the election. If anyone was watching the filibuster, and then saw that photo the media is splashing around, the difference in WEEKS is drastic.

I'd like him to get better - he's a key player in Canadian politics right now, and has turned the status quo on it's ear. However, I'm putting my money on him shaking this mortal coil before October.

Beyond the eyes and sunken look - it was his voice that tells me the end is near. I've heard that before in my granparents and other terminal cases. Politics will not be the same without Jack. I will miss him.
