Free Buttermilk biscuit at McDonalds.

Ever since Tim Hortons fired a shot across McDonalds bow and started offering breakfast sandwiches the two companies have been trading blows back and forth.

Coffee, breakfast wraps, and so on.

McDonalds has offered up a buttermilk biscuit. And is giving them away free Wednesday and Thursday

Well I for one wont be going. When Mcdonalds did Free coffee. It was a freakin nightmare to be in line for free food? Please I aint going anywhere near the place. Also of note... food quality goes way way down when fast food places are super uber busy..

AND!!!.. I purchased one of these last week.
BLEH!.. double BLEH!. the biscuit was very dry, little flavour and extremely crumbly. to the point of it was difficult to eat while driving because it just simply fell apart.

But hey, free food if you want it..

What is the sodium content?

good...won't be fighting you in line.

First...the biscuits are hit/miss...though the several I've had over the past few weeks have all been mostly good.
Next...even if you don't like sausage...get the biscuit with the sausage...they complement each other well, and helps to hold it together.
Last...before opening the wrapper...squish the sandwich a bit...it will compress the biscuit so it doesn't crumble so easily.

I'll definitely get at least one free biscuit..might just drive around the block for an hour and get 9/10 .

But I was tempted to delete this thread to reduce the advertising so I won't have to wait in line as long .

Oooh. I for one, LOVE the biscuits. McDonald's has had biscuits in the US for ages, and it's about damn time I was able to get them here. I have been on a huge biscuit orgy this week, and I'll make sure I hit the drive through and get freebies.

AGES, I have to disagree. The bacon is better than the snausage. Everything is better with bacon. Mmm. Bacon.

Also, I had one of the new (to Canada) McDonald's espresso drinks the other day, and was actually impressed. It was good, hot and completely satisfactory. That said, the service at the double drive through on Ellice/St.James sucks. SUCKS.

I will never eat a burger at McDonalds, but biscuits and coffee? Hell to the yes.

When I walked past the McD's in Wpg Square, the line was mighty long...longer than the free coffee line!

I was thinking the line at the one McDonalds was not that long because traffic was not backed up... but then saw the line up of at least 20 cars wrapping around the building and just laughed to myself.. so you are idling your car for how long to get something free????

I went to TWO McDonald's this morning (both are on my drive to work).

Got a sausage at the first, a bacon at the second.

Then there was a flyer in one of my bags saying they have HAM too!!! (there's no ham one on the signs at either restaurant)

So tomorrow I'll have to hit the 3rd one in my area (about a 2-block detour) and get the ham one too .

Breakfast and lunch free tomorrow .

Woohoo...Two more today...(they didn't have the ham at the location I went)...and, if you tell them there's more than one person in the vehicle, you can get one for each person.

I was going to imagine there were 5 people in the vehicle...but instead only imagined one.

LOL, I drove by the one McDonald ( well I passed 3 McDs on way to work today but only checked the one) and the line up was only 4 cars so I got my free one.

Still bleh.. way too crumbly of a biscuit.

HINT.. Flaky...does not mean crumbly.

It's a shame the McDonald's up here (or any other restaurant I've been to here) doesn't offer some good buttermilk biscuits smothered in sausage gravy.

Makes it hard to eat and drive...but if I could find a place that served that...I'd probably be there every day for breakfast.

Denny's & Perkins here "claim" to have them...but it's not a REAL sausage gravy...it's more of a gravy with some sausage flavoring.

Mix in some eggs and it becomes a breakfast from heaven.

Skipped the freebie McD breakfast today and yesterday.

Had one of Gaberniks new breakfast sandwiched ( their Breakfast Reuben is AWESOME!!!)

If you are in the P & M area for breakfast, try out their breakfast special - egg cheese & bacon on em. But it's real cheese(not sliced processed), and real bacon - now that's a breakfast sandwich!
