We are tough souls? Years of practise? It's not that bad? It only lasts a few days? Many peeps enjoy it?

Heh. Friends of mine are retired and they leave in their RV in Nov/Dec for the warmer climes down south. I'd seriously consider doing the same when I retire.

I love the cold! I was outside at 9pm last night, clearing my sidewalk and having a blast.

It also helped that I'd had a couple of beers by then... hence the unplanned snow angels I'd made on my front lawn...

Being the pussy from BC, I thought that maybe I was just being a pussy from BC when I went out in my shorts and winterboots at 5 am to swap car seats from hubby's van to my car so that kids could be transported and nearly died of shock when the deep freeze kicked in after about 2 minutes. It wasn't until I defrosted and had a good weep in the shower that I checked the weather chanel and discovered we were only a few degrees away from all atomic matter ceasing to move. Good times.
My enjoyment of the weather only increased though the day as I drove around the north end of the city to appointments in the crevices of Point Douglas where the mothertrucking roads don't ever get plowed, skating rink road conditions all along Notre Dame/Keewatin/Inkster, and then winning the golden turd when I tried pulling out of my garage later in the evening, only to discover the city plows had pushed an ice wall up behind my door. I backed out, hung the front bumper on the ice wall, and got stuck. An hour later (in heels and crappy magic gloves) and weeping for death, I manged to ice pick/shovel/pray my way out of the ice hill in the lane, and ran around collecting kids.

Tomorrow? One appointment around lunch, and I'm staying in the damn house for the remainder of the day. Screw doing this again. Ever.

Shorts at 5 am, in this weather. I guess there's a first for everything. Very Happy

I was out and about during the late morning, shopping with a co-worker and it didn't feel all that cold. It's that darn wind that makes all matter want to stop moving, go home and sit in bed with a cup of hot chocolate.

I saw students from the Mennonite University running from the dorm across Grant Ave to the athletic centre yesterday, in shorts. Crazy!

The term "ice hill" is much more appropriate imo, than "windrow". The friggin wind has nothing to do with it....unless it's about the wind blowing through some operators heads...the ones that pile snow up at intersections so that you cannot see approaching vehicles. Bastadges!!

I'm a district sales manager for a large international beauty/skin care corporation. I do corporate training, prospect new clients, support and assist existing clients in increasing their sales.

I think being a madame would actually be a lot warmer and involve a lot less driving around the Maples endlessly.

On that note, next time Dean runs for elected office, I'll be able to follow along much better than last time. Did you know there is a wall mural just past Selkirk/McPhillips (Sgt. Tommy Prince Drive?) that has a giant MIKE PAGTAKHAN homage emblazoned on it? Yeah.

Also, I'm pretty sure termites are eating the Main Street Underpass, and got to watch the cops in their Ice Fishing Huts past Michael Jean park on the river the other day, as they looked for that little boy that drowned in the late fall.
