Gut feel? No, not right. Way too many variables attached. No matter the gender/ages.

Now I'll read the story. And look at the picture.

pfft...bunch of crybabies.

it's not like the guy was comatose and she took a ride.

he was a consenting adult...and, from what the article says...wanted the relationship, and even got jealous when he thought it was going to end.

It may also be different if he was on medications that could alter his ability of judgment, but he wasn't.

I'm not saying it was a smart thing to do on her part...it was quite stupid whether she was his nurse or not just having the affair with a married man who was dying...

but she should be filing a lawsuit against the nursing board for wrongful prosecution.

The place she worked has grounds to fire her, and she'd probably have a hard time finding somewhere else to work...but she should not lose a CAREER because of a stupid mistake...especially one that was not illegal.

If it is a gorgeous looking female nurse and I am the patient it is perfectly okay. All others...no of course.

the really sad part is...
sexual pleasure for patients used to be an actual treatment...in fact it's the reason vibrators were invented:

For centuries, doctors had been treating women for a wide variety of illnesses by performing what we would now recognize as masturbation. The "pelvic massage" was especially common in the treatment of female hysteria during the Victorian Era, as the point of such manipulation was to cause "hysterical paroxysm" (orgasm) in the patient. However, not only did they regard the "vulvular stimulation" required as having nothing to do with sex, but reportedly found it time-consuming and hard work.[1]

Doesn't a scandinavian country even allow for prostitutes on their welfare payments?

yes...but..!

the UK did last year too. They even paid for his airfare and hotel to wherever it was that prostitution is legal that they sent him.

eeew.

I'm not sure why reading the story would change someone's mind. Is there something in the story that makes it more ok or more heinous?

A patient in hospital is vulnerable and this is one reason those types of rules are in place. What a horrible thing she did to this guy. Sad
