Why can't I Get My Computer to Show on my TV?

It worked at 1st, and then I took my computer in to get defragglerocked and now I cann't get the TV to receive the program from the computer.

Back to the thread- When i hook everything up in the order it says the new TV 22" 14 pound comes on and then ot tells me no signal

I think you need to go to your desktop and right click your mouse. That will bring up your display properties box. Click on the "Settings" tab.

That should give you a couple options to choose from. I believe one of them will be your TV. Once there you might want to manipulate the screen resolution.

Try that. Oh, remember what the original settings were in case something goes wrong...

Try also Function F8: cycle through the settings.

GOM, just a heads up...the Fn+F8 is not always the same key combo for swithching monitiors. It all depends on the computer, for instance on 2 of my laptops it's Fn + F1, on one it's Fn+F5, and on another it's Fn+F4

It's usually easier to just look at the little icons on the F1 - F12 keys or even on the rest of the keyboard and look for the icon representing the 2 monitors. It's definitely not a universal command between all laptops.

Computer whiz was over for Xmas supper last night and tried to install a driver to handle the computer over to the LCD TV , but was unsuccessful in findind a driver in a short time.
Anyone know what he was trying to do to my Acer 5000?
Any instructions?
