That was two minutes that I'll never get back.

Was that supposed to be funny...or did I miss something?

She is telling a story of incompetent security at The Super Store.
As soon as she was stopped she has a claim for "false arrest". You do not stop anyone unless you have witnessed a crime being committed! That is the law!

For a self-described "journalist", she sure has a difficult time with words.

Really do not blame stores the shoplifting is unreal and it cost people millions every year . If I owned a store I would do all I could to stop it too , yes you make a few mistakes but rather that then lose my shirt . She will get a standard comp package and the store will pass on its cost toy you . After all nothing is for free some day Winnipegers and most shoppers will get that .

I hope the standard comp package adds up to $500? That was where the embarassment "comp" re-imbursement started 10 years ago, for those that filed statements of claim.
Very touchy subject, being arrested in public!

Costco has the right system. Everyone is checked as they leave the store, so no one can claim that they were singled out. I would hazard to guess that their losses due to shoplifting are quite low.
