Yup. That's right...

The Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre

Queen Elizabeth II has granted Winnipeg's flagship stage company permission to call itself the Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre.


Although no one is saying so, MTC becomes the first Canadian theatre troupe that can call itself royal. It is seen as a special distinction to earn the personal approval of the queen.

i mean the MTC.


The honour was given to the MTC, NOT the RMTC.

The RMTC did not exist to be given the honour.

Now...if someone else (maybe the Prince of Wales) wants to bestow a new honour on the theatre...THEN it would be to the RMTC.
